How to Sell Yourself

How to Sell Yourself

Sometimes you not only need to convince your prospect about how good your product is and why they should buy it from you, especially if they can get a similar product elsewhere. You also need to convince them about why they should buy it from you.

Before you get better at persuading others and influencing others, you need to learn how to self motivate and sell yourself.

Here are 10 Tips on how you can sell yourself better.

1. Believe in your Product

You need to first believe in what you are selling before anything else. This means that you must be convinced that the product is good, and you are capable of selling it. This means believing in YOU!

One of the every first few things that people notice about you is about your attitude. Successful people have constructive and optimistic way of looking at themselves and things in the external environment.

Start to believe in yourself and not let uncontrollable events affect your attitude. Do not step into the bad habits of criticising, condemning, and complaining

2. Have Attention Grabbing Packaging

How your product is packaged and presented will influence to buying decision of the prospect.

Everything needs to be packaged well, including yourself. You should dress appropriately for the occasion. The style of clothes you wear, your spectacles, your tie, your shoes, and even the pen you use says something about you.

3. Smile

A nice, pleasant smile will help to give a better impression to your prospect. No need to give a big cheesy grin.

4. Use Names

Remember your prospect’s name and use their name during the presentation. Ask for permission to address them by their first names. Don’t overdo it. Besides remembering their names, you should try to get them to remember your name as well.

5. Body Language

Take note of your prospect’s body language as they tell you how they are thinking and feeling. Look at his eyes, are they looking around the room, or are they looking at what you are presenting, are their arms crossed? How are they sitting?

These are signs that can tell you if the prospect is convinced or not, if they are folding their arms at the end of your presentation, you probably have not convinced and get them to open up to you yet, so you should work on that.

Spend some time engaging them, make some small talk, and also get them to talk about themselves so you will have a better understanding of them

6. Listen

You must listen o what your prospect says and most importantly show them that you are listening. Many male marketers make this mistake, especially when the prospect is a female. They do not show that they are listening. You can show that you are listening by showing some acknowledgement, nod your head and acknowledge by “uh huh”.

7. Be Interested

To be interesting to your prospect, you must first be interested. Most people are concerned about their self image. Therefore you should show that you value them, and you feel that they are important and worth listening to, you will effectively raise their self image. They will love you when you are able to do that.

8. Talk Positively

Craft your sentence to make it sound more positive. Instead of, “It’s such a terrible day don’t you think?” you could say “How wonderful is it stopped raining”. You could also say thing to compliment your prospect such as, “ i have heard a lot of good things about you”.  But only say thing is it is true. If not you will risk being seen as insincere and fake.

9. Mirror Your Prospect

You can try to behave more like your prospect by speaking and behave like them. For example, if they talk slowly, you should match his speed when you talk to him.

10. Be Warm and Friendly

Be warm and friendly when you talk to a new prospect, or even your current customers and downline. Avoid being over pushy and aggressive. If you are too aggressive and pushy, your prospect will become more defensive and unwilling to open up to listen to you.

5 Tips to Develop a Strong Network

5 Tips to Develop a Strong Network

Develop a strong networkSharing your passion for your business, helping others build a business for themselves, training and educating and being able to earn a little extra money–these are all reasons why direct sales team building is so important.

If you are a team leader, you’ll find that you must build firm alliances with team members. Not doing so would only rish losing them all together. You need to build up a solid relationship that will benefit you both.

But you may be wondering how to insure that team members feel included while still maintaining some type of balance with the rest of your life. Here are 5 easy tips for maintaining a great relationship with your team downline members:

1. Start Off Strong

When a new recruit first signs up, it’s vitally important that you communicate often with her. One helpful ideas is to develop a series of emails to send to new member that talks them through those first confusing, scary, exciting days.

Don’t wait to communicate once she gets her kit. Start the training and mentoring the minute she signs up. You can do this easily via email or texting. Don’t make it a monumental task; just be sure to touch base frequently.

2. Give 15

Set aside fifteen minutes of each workday for team phone calls. Use those minutes to call one to five members of your group for a quick “just checking in” call. Leave a message if you get voicemail. The idea is to let them know that you’re thinking of them and giving them a chance to hear your voice. This is a great time to ask how they’re doing with their life as well and get beyond your company to show you care about them. They don’t want to get the feeling you only care because you are making money off of them.

3. Do it as a Team

Even if you have a personal website for your business, make a team website. It is great for communication. You can post new members, meeting dates and updates, etc. Your team can check it at their convenience and it keeps everyone connected.

4. Hold meetings

This is another great way to foster unity and strong relationships within your group. If you have downline members that are out your area, have a quarterly conference call with everyone just to touch base. There are many free teleconference services via the internet that make it very easy to do. And if you can, have a face-to-face meeting once in a while as well. Some group leaders have meetings monthly or quarterly. Others do a once a year get together with everyone.

5. Ecards

They are FREE (great!), but also convenient and fun. Use an Internet calendar function to keep track of birthdays. Once a month go through the upcoming month and set up the ecard deliveries for the birthdays, anniversary dates for the next month or more. You can set these up to deliver up to a year in advance! Everyone likes to get an ecard!

The bottom line to getting a strong downline team is to communicate in every way that you can. You will find that your direct sales team members will stay with your company much longer when you’ve fostered a strong relationship by keeping in touch! Much success!

Customer Service in MLM

Customer Service in MLMYou need to deliver good customer service to your clients or customers, especially when you are in a sales, commissioned environment.

Besides, giving good customer service ensures that you give yourself a competitive advantage. Customers will also be more loyal and will be more willing to refer people to you.

Actually very few sales people give excellent service, so you can really stand out when you are able to deliver good service to your clients.

Here are some ways you can take with you to deliver good service:

1. Ask your customers what they expect
You need to know what your client’s expectation of you is, and product or service to be able to deliver service that can match up to their expectations.

2. Apologize when you make a mistake

You need to be honest and admit if you have made a mistake. Everybody make mistakes, but not everybody is brave enough to admit to one. What is most important after apologizing to follow up and make sure that things are made right.

3. Put yourself in the client’s situation

The best way to understand your client is to put yourself in their shoes. So you can assess the situation to recommend the best product or service to suit them.

4. Avoid saying “That’s our policy”

Customers don’t want to hear about your companies policies, they want o know how can their problem be solved. It also shows a great deal of inflexibility when you keep emphasizing the companies policies.

5. Respond quickly

In today’s environment, with the ease of the internet, you need to be prompt in your service and respond quickly to your client’s enquires and request for information.

There are many benefits to providing good service, you gain customer satisfaction, and you can build a longer term relationship, and you can potentially get more referrals from them.

MLM is a professional career, you should take pride in what you do and not further tarnish the reputation of MLM.

MLM Training on Overcoming Objections

MLM training on overcoming objectionsIt is normal to face rejections and objections when you are in the sales industry. Some of the most common objections are;

- Let me think about it

- It is too expensive

- I don’t have the budget

- I am not interested

You have to clarify your prospect’s objection. You should restate his/ her comments to make sure you understand fully the client’s hesitation.

Many marketer assume the clients’ objection that’s why they are unable to close the sale, because they do not correctly address the issue.

One of the most common objection people give is “It is too expensive.”
When a marketer hears this, most will think that the issue lies on the price being too high, and proceeds on to offer lower price, but this may signal more to the price. Such as;

- The client does not see the value of the product or services

- The client is using it as an excuse not to make the purchase

- A competitor is selling it at a cheaper price

- The client did not budget enough of it

- The client is comparing your product to a similar product or service from another company

- The client cannot afford it.

So, unless you clarify the true underlying meaning of the prospect’s objection, you will not be able to address it accurately. Therefore it is important to invest some time to clarify your prospect’s objection.

By fully understanding the underlying meaning of your prospect’s objections, you can suggest solutions accurately, thus, increasing your closing ration of your presentations.

This is not a skill that can be mastered easily, you need to practice, and by practicing, it means meeting more prospects, and gaining more experience.

Marketing your MLM products and business is an art, never a science.

The Secret of Asking For The Sale

Many times, your prospect is actually waiting for the marketer, you to ask for the sale before they make a decision. But many sales people fail to ask for the sale, which results in lost sales opportunities.

The reason why many sales people don’t ask for sale, is mainly due to the fear of rejection. But you have to recognize that it is your job to ask for the sale, and in many cases, your prospect actually wants you to ask for the sale.

Once you feel that you have meet the specific issues of the customer and have addressed the issue by recommending a product or a solution, you should be confident to ask for the sale.

Be confident when you ask for the sale. Here are some ways you can use to ask for the sale after your presentation

- How would you like to proceed?

- What would you like to do now?

- Can I wrap that for you?

- Which option do you prefer?

- Is this acceptable?

- Which payment plan works best for you?

- Would you like me to stat the paperwork?

- When will be a convenient time to schedule this?

Don’t think that you are being too aggressive by asking for the sale. The trick besides the above points to ask for sale, is to develop a variety of questions and statements that gain commitment from your prospect during the presentation. You will soon notice an increase in your sales once you start to ask for the sale.

Teamwork Games: Yes!

Preparation: None
Running time: One minute
Environment: Enough open space for all participants to stand in a circle.
Team: Single group, no restrictions.

Teamwork games: Yes!Get everyone to stand in a circle holding hands. Ask them to crouch down. Explain that you are going to say ‘yes’, ‘yes’, ‘yes’ rhythmically, each time getting slightly louder and slightly until you end up with the group jumping into the air shouting ‘YES!”. Do it.

Feedback:

Explain that this probably makes them feel very silly – and that’s not a bad thing. There are two reasons for this. One is that we often feel silly when coming up with new ideas and original thinking. As you want them to be original and innovative, they need to overcome this resistance to feeling silly. Practice helps – this is a primer in silliness.

The second reason for undertaking the exercise is to put the group into a more positive frame of mind. Even if the participants feel absolutely ludicrous, they will get a warm glow and a feeling of shared purpose out of the totally positive nature of the content.

Outcome:

As with many ice-breakers, there are warm-up and time-out components here. It is important that you give the feedback explaining the reasoning, otherwise some participants (particularly from feeling-suppressive cultures) will feel negative about it. Given that feedback, you should have introduced some energy, made them aware of a possible creativity killer and brought them closer together.

Variations:

It is a good move to repeat the exercise after the feedback. Now that the participants know the reasons behind what they are doing, they will feel more positive and get more of the exercise. This variation is positively recommended, if time is available (this is, after all, a very quick exercise.)

To enhance the ice-breaking aspect you can have everyone’s name stuck on them as they take part – the situation will to some extent reinforce retention of names.

Great teamwork games can boost the teamwork and team spirit of your network. If you are doing network marketing offline or organizing any outings for your network, you can consider playing games like the above to connect your network together.

A great book to take reference from is Instant Teamwork: Motivate and Energize Your Team Now! by Brian Clegg and Paul Birch.

Appearance Matters For Your MLM Business

Your appearance will affect your sales results. This doesn’t mean that you need to dress in a one thousand dollar suit, but it is definitely crucial to look professional regardless of what you sell. You should try to dress better than your prospect. Being overdressed is always better than being underdressed.

Here are some guidelines about appearance

  1. Avoid garish jewelry, unless the business requires you to do so
  2. Limit your use of cologne sand fragrances. Some people get offended by perfumes, so keep it light, when you do wear a fragrance
  3. Have your nails trimmed and clean
  4. Don’t chew gum in front of your client or when you are over the phone with a client
  5. Try to brush your teeth though out the day to keep your breath fresh.
  6. If you do smoke, wash your face and hands immediately, as some people may find the smoke smell offensive
  7. Make sure your clothes suit your well. Properly hemmed pants, shirts, or jackets contribute to your professional appearance
  8. Get good shoes. Many people gauge your success by the shoes you wear. Try to buff them daily to keep its shine, and don’t wear shoes that are worn out
  9. The previous rule applies to your clothing as well. Avoid clothing that is too worn out.

Dressing up well, helps to increase your confidence level. It shows respect to the prospect that you treat him and the business seriously. You may think that these suggestions are commonsense, but many sales people tend to overlook these points. If you treat MLM Network Marketing as a professional business and career, you have to be professional and dress no less than a professional.

Network Marketing – Creating Additional Sales

In network Marketing, you can be selling different kind of things, but most people are convinced that you must sell consumable products to earn good money.

This is not true. You just need to have good products at a good price in order to earn good money in Network Marketing.

Non consumable products can also let you earn passive income like consumable products. Here are some ideas you can use to earn more passive income with non-consumable products.

As long as you have a solid MLM training in sales, and prospecting, you can practically sell anything. MLM training is  fundamental to success in MLM business.

1. Use the products as gifts

Demonstrate to your customers how they can use the product as a gift, be creative and think how you can market the product out of the normal use. Just remember to show how the product can help people fit their needs. You can even bundle the product with other complementing product and sell it as a package.

2. Fund raising

You can try talking to your existing customers or your relatives and friends. If they belong to any social groups like the church or community involvement groups, you can speak to them about helping to raise funds and you can get your products to more people. This is a good if the product has some practical functions.

3. Get them to be your sales people

If your customers are happy with the product, you could ask them to refer the products to their friends and relatives. If they are reluctant to do this, you could just ask them to give out brochures or flyers to the office, and offer them a discount for their purchase or a small thank you reward to motivate them to help you. This helps to give you a few more sale every month.

4. Refer a friend program.

You could start a Refer a friend program where people get rewarded by refering a friend to purchase your product. This can be in terms of a discount, or a free trial, or a small gift, or even a cash reward when one or both purchase a product from you.

5. Quantity discounts

Give discounts to your customers when they buy more quantity. Offer them a “buy 5 get 1 free” promotion or maybe “buy 3 for the price of 2″. This spurs people to buy more quantity to save on each item.

You can sell and earn from customer repeated sales, but if you think of how you can get more from existing customers, you will be able to get better sales, more customers and higher earnings.

How to Avoid Burnout For New MLM Distributors

To many people, deciding to join a Network Marketing/MLM is a big decision, they may experience some mixed feelings such as, excited, anxious, apprehensive, or even regret. Ultimately this industry is one that is not very widely accepted, even though the rewards of doing well is very high.

So for new distributors, it is normal if you feel regret in joining the industry. But if you want to achieve success in life and in this industry, you need to get over your mind block and start doing the business and achieve the success you want from this industry. Here are some areas for new distributors to take note when you just entered the industry.

1. Like I mentioned, it is normal to regret your decision to join Network Marketing/MLM

You may be very excited in the beginning, but you may start to feel regretful after speaking to friends or family members. But if you expect yourself to feel regret, you will be prepared for it. If you are not prepared to feel regret, you may just drop out of this industry without even trying to overcome the decision.

2. Some new distributors are so excited to do this business, they try to tell their friends and family about it without even getting the proper training to introduce the business.

They end up facing rejections and getting frustrated. This will make them feel dejected even before they start the business proper. Be patient, and receive the proper training before you try to introduce the business.

3. Some new distributors work very hard with prospecting and presentation that they overwork themselves in the beginning and then they break down.

This business is about maintaining your momentum, and keep in mind that this is a long distance race, pace your self and build your foundation so you can go a longer way.

4. Listen to successful people.

Some new distributors think that they know everything about doing this business, but the fact is that this business is a very unique business that you cannot apply traditional methods. You should listen to people who have achieved success in this business and learn how they achieve it, avoid the mistakes they made, and follow exactly what they tell you to do.

5. Maintain your lifestyle.

I see so many life examples of people who started Network Marketing/MLM and got so in to in that they lose their lifestyle. They eat, sleep, shit about work. This affects the people around you. Try to establish a balance between work and play. Work hard and play hard.

The first few months or year in the Network Marketing/MLM business maybe difficult to start, but after awhile you will start to find your balance in work and play. True happiness is never measured only by the amount of money you have. Only when you are happy doing what you are doing, will you succeed.

Tool #1 To Solve Problems In An Effective & Powerful Way – Think In Three’s

Business people often think in opposites; right/wrong, accept/reject, pass/fail, yes/no.

This kind of thinking tends to restrict the possible number of solutions to a problem and make everything seem black and white. But the world is not binary. High performers must think in a more expansive way.

Effective human resource managers, for example, not only have to find innovative ways of attracting people to a business but also how to develop and retain them. Marketing managers have to attract, improve the profitability of and retain customers. If you think in terms of only two of these tasks then you will miss vital opportunities.

How to overcome?

To overcome the limitation of thinking in two’s try drawing a triangle to remind you to think of a third possibility for every new problem or opportunity.

This new lens can also be used to make brainstorming more effective. Send out a brief 24 hours before your brainstorming session and ask every participant to bring along three ideas. If you have ten people and everyone does their idea homework, in the first few minutes you could potentially have 30 new ideas.

How to apply this tool?

Select a problem and place it in the middle of your page within a triangle. Try to develop at least three distinct solutions to the problems. Look at this diagram to understand better. First you have the problem in the triangle and make sure you brainstorm for at least 3 solutions. In this case, you will never be stuck in a situation whereby you only think binary. Make good effort in practicing this conscientiously and you will reap good results from it.
