I am sure many of you have thought of quitting the MLM Network Marketing industry many times.

Or maybe you use to be in the industry and you gave up.

I have seen too many cases of people giving up the business after a few weeks of months. It does not matter if you have tried or not, the one thing quitters don’t have is Perseverance.

Quitting is the easiest thing to do. But instead of choosing the easy way out, have you thought,

“What if I try hard enough and succeed in the business?”

The benefits of succeeding in the business is definitly great. Well, quitting just means that you will go back to where you started off.

I think that nobody should quit the MLM Networking industry unless you meet the following criteria;

You are rich and do not have to bother about earning money, because money falls from the sky for you, somehow..
You are lazy and unmotivated
You are happy with your live now, and have no wish of improving it, no matter what.
You give up very easily, and fickle is your middle name
You think that it is SERIOUSLY easy to make money in MLM
You want to make money but don’t like the idea of putting more effort
You think that you can make millions by recruiting 2 people into your networker
You bother about your “face” and how other people think about you too much
You hate talking to people
You hate to build relationship

Well, these are generally some characteristics of people, that I would advise taking up a full-time job instead.

I feel that the most important trait to succeed in MLM or any other business is the undying spirit.

Never give up!

In a business, there are risks, and you need to put in extra hours in the beginning, but that does not mean that it will not work. Only those who persevere will last to taste the fruits.

Quitting is the easiest thing to do, but is it the Best thing to do?

Many of you were probably once like me. When I first started my MLM business, I went for a lot of motivational courses, read up on a lot of motivational books including self help books. The original intention of these is to make me more motivated to do sales, and so I can create a break through in my sales record.

Well, I cannot count how many of these motivational events I been. But did they work?

I have to say yes they did.. But not for long.

Can you motivate yourself?

I always left the event feeling all hyped up feeling that I could achieve anything I wanted to, and set out to do. But after a few days, the hype and motivation died down. And I proceed to the next motivational book to help me find my next motivation.

Does this sound familiar? If the motivational talk or book you read works? Then why do you need to attend so many of them?

I came to realize that such motivation came from external factors. This kind of motivation doesn’t stay with you for long. After awhile you will forget what that motivational speaker said, can you will forget the feeling, the feeling of being motivated.

So I sat down with myself one day and ask, how long am I going to do this? How can I be truly motivated?
The answer was that the desire to succeed or achieve something must come from within. Inside you, you must know;

Why you want to succeed?
Why you need to earn the money?
Why do you need to be successful?
So what if you are successful?
So what if you can make a lot of money?

I spend sometime thinking about why I joined MLM in the first place. I did not want to be like the rest working from 9-5 my whole life. I wanted more. I don’t want to settle for mediocre living. I want to be able to fulfill my dreams. I want to have time with my family. I want to command power.

The desire was so strong. And this was from within.

If you depend on external motivation, your enthusiasm will only be based on your emotional high and lows, how you feel on that particular day.

As a sales person or marketer, your enthusiasm will depend largely on your core motivation, because only the core and inner most desire will drive you to act.

So if you any marketer whether MLM or not, if you want to succeed in marketing, you first need to know what drives you. Why do you want this? Is this really so important to you? What is your goal?

Answer these questions truthfully and keep reminding yourself throughout your pursue for success, instead of using external motivational hype to stir you on.

Don’t get it wrong, these motivation talks are good, but it works better if you know what you want, and they will act as a supporting factor to remind you that you need to succeed. Rather than solely rely on them to get you re-enthusiastic in your work again.

One of the mistake many marketer commit is bad time management. Especially new marketers, you should prioritize your daily activities and management your time well, since you only have 24 hours a day.

Maximizing your time and prioritizing your selling days to make full use of your time to achieve more.

Many marketers spend too much time on non-selling related activities during peak selling time. Administrative tasks can easily occupy your day, and they limit you from doing the real selling activities.

Here are 3 tips that can help you make the most from each day.

1) To Do List

Have a to-do list that states all the activities that you need to accomplish daily. Use a sheet of paper or use your organizer in your mobile phone to build your to-do list. Cross out the activity after you accomplish them, and move forward to the next activity.

2) Prioritize Your Task

Your to-do list should be listed in order of importance, with the most important activity being the first on the list. Most people instead of doing this, they do the things that are the easiest first. At the end of the day you may find yourself left with still the most important things to do. You can assign a system to label items its importance.

E.g. A- for things with the highest priority, B- things that are important, C- things that are least important. In this way, you know that you have to complete all the activities that are labeled A before moving to doing the B and C activities.

3) Set aside time to read, listen, respond to emails

When you are doing activities such as cold calling, or other marketing activities, you should turn off your email, it is very easy to get distracted by your email when you are doing work. So the best thing to do is to allocate a time for checking your mails, and not check it after that.

When you have a goal to accomplish a few specific goals, you will be more focused to finishing the piece of work. This helps you to increase your productivity simply by doing things that are important first.

Today I received a feedback from our reader, he said that he had just joined a new company and is feeling disheartened and discouraged about the business, and is doubt if MLM Network Marketing is all hype.

Can people really make a living out of MLM Network Marketing?

The answer is YES!

The problem is, many people recruit based on the money aspect. “See how I earn $25000!!”

This creates the impression that it is easy to earn that money, and anybody can earn that money as well.

Let me share my story, I started out in MLM very young, when I was still in school, I wanted to have more money to spend and buy stuffs. So one day I was approached by an adult, and he ask me if I want to learn how I could make more money. He showed me his paycheck of a few thousand dollars (it was a lot of money to me then). So naturally i got interested.

He started his presentation about his network and that all of them are making a lot of money. So I asked, “can I join you?”

He got me to pay a few hundred dollars called “franchise fee”, so I thought, by paying the few hundred, I could get back few thousands, NOT BAD!

So i borrowed money from my mum, I did not tell her what it was for, because I was told by the man that I should not consult anybody.

So i paid the “franchise fee” and waited… and waited… and waited…

I called the man and ask, how should i start, and he passed me a product booklet and said, “go and sell these, and you will make a lot of money”

I said, “But i don’t know how!”

So he told me I could also refer all my friends to him, and when they all join me, I can also make a lot of money.

I did, and guess what?

I became the “most feared person” in school, friends avoided me because they were afraid I would try to talk to the about MLM and Network Marketing.

As a result, I lost all my friends.

I left that company in the end, of course.

The thing I realized over the years is that, there is nothing wrong with the company, there was nothing wrong with the compensation plan, and there was nothing wrong about the products as well.

But what went wrong was the person who brought me into the company did not prepare me for what is needed to really earn the money.

I did many companies after that, and i realized that the one most important thing you need to succeed in the business is DESIRE to SUCCEED.

Being greedy for the money doesn’t count. Everybody loves money.

But what would you do for the money?

The difference between successful people and failures is that successful people do thing that failures don’t like to do.

The power of goals and goal setting One of the things that can motivate you to be disciplined to do sales and follow up with prospect and clients are your goals. You strive to achieve your goals. But to be motivated, your goals must be set to give you focus, clarity and direction.

If you don’t set proper goals, it may pull you back and instead of motivating you, it may cause you to be unmotivated.

Follow the SMART rules for goal setting.

S- Specific
M- Motivational
A- Achievable
R- Relevant
T- Time Frame

Specific

Your goals must be set as specific as possible.

A poor example is; “I want to make more money”.

A specific goal should look like this: “I want to make $5000 by the end of this month”.

The clearer your goal is, the more focus it will help you become.

Motivational

Your goals must be able to motivate you. If you are normally doing $3000 worth of sales, a goal of making $3500 may not motivate you enough to make you excited enough to want to achieve it. But is you set a goal of $5000, and that will make you the top marketer in the company, you will be more excited to achieve the goal.

Achievable

You goal must be set high enough to motivate you, but it must also be realistic enough to achieve. If you set a goal that is too difficult to achieve, after a few tries of achieving the goal and not being able to achieve it, you may feel depressed and unmotivated.

So your goal should be set achievable yet challenging. Challenging goals will force you out of your comfort zone making you learn and grow more.

Relevant

The goals you set must be relevant to you, personal. You must be able to identify and relate to the goal. You set the goals that you want to achieve, not goals that others want you to achieve.

Time Frame

You should include a time frame for you to achieve the goal, so that you will be motivated to achieve the goal within the stipulated time period. Deadlines also instill a sense of urgency and make you move forward faster.

After you set your goals, you should make it a point to look at it at least twice a day to remind yourself that you need to achieve this goal. The constant reminder will help to drive it into your subconscious mind, so that your actions will be more inline with your goals.

Choosing your thoughts to create success This post is guest blogged by my good friend, Mary Knebel. She is a personal development coach and owner of SelfHelpGoddess.com. You may also want to follow Mary on Twitter.

I’ve been thinking a lot this past week about the power of choosing your thoughts. We all have this power, but most people assume that the thoughts we think are automatic and that we have no control over them. I’m here to tell you, though, that not only are we in control of our thoughts, but we can actually change them anytime we want to! In fact, if you want to get different results in your life, changing your thoughts is the first and most effective place to start.

Our thoughts create our reality, period. And whether or not you believe this, it’s true! Quantum physicists have scientifically proven that our thoughts are composed of energy, and that they can actually be seen with the right equipment. Therefore, the thoughts you think are not simply random things that pass through your head; they actually go out and create the circumstances of your life.

I attended a conference last year and we performed the following exercise: We were paired up with a partner, and the first part of the exercise was to tell your partner how horrible your childhood was (what were all the things that went wrong, what were the things you wish had been different, etc.) This was pretty easy for everyone! The second part of the exercise, though, was to tell your partner all the great things about your childhood and explain how wonderful it was. It took a few seconds to switch gears, but everyone managed to describe their exact same childhood in glowing, positive terms rather than negative terms! Same childhood, same experiences, different thoughts about it. For example, if you had a parent who was never around, you could feel sorry for yourself because you were often lonely and felt neglected, or you could focus on the fact that you became extremely self-reliant and independent, both qualities which have served you well in adulthood. See how easy it is to change your thoughts!

Here’s another example: Several people have lost their jobs in this economy (including myself). If you’re in this position, you can either spend all your time focusing on the fact that you lost your job, you don’t know where your next job is going to come from, you don’t know what you’ll do if you run out of money, etc. etc. etc. Or you can focus on the fact that this is a great opportunity to find a job that fits your personality better, or follow your passion and start a business, or stay home and spend more time with your kids. Which person above do you think will fare better? The one who focuses on gloom and doom, or the one who is optimistic and open to new opportunities? I guarantee you that the optimistic person will not only feel better by thinking positive thoughts, but they will actually create better opportunities for themselves by choosing to think uplifting thoughts rather than negative ones.

To change your thoughts, first notice what thoughts you are currently thinking in your head. Are they positive or negative? Are they leading you in the direction of your dreams, or keeping you stagnant and stuck in the same situation? If your thoughts are negative, remember that you always have a choice to think a new thought! And then simply choose a new thought that is more in line with what you want to create, and say that to yourself in your head. You can even say the new thought out loud if you want, but at least make sure you say it in your head. Then, whenever the negative thought comes up again, simply repeat the new, positive thought to yourself. I’ll be honest with you, it will take a few times in the beginning, but eventually your mind will adjust and will start producing the new thoughts automatically!

Harnessing the power of personal development It is important that you invest time and money on personal development if you want to become a successful marketer.

Personal development can mean attending seminars, or workshops. It can also mean reading up on books, magazines, newsletters, listening to CDs, watching videos or participating in tele-seminars or webminars.

Such events allow you to network with fellow marketers all over the country or world to exchange ideas on marketing. You may even find yourself business partner to open up more market for your business.

Some of the topics for personal development that is related to improving your sales and business are;

- Dealing with difficult customers
- Overcoming rejections
- Marketing yourselves and your business

This list is not exhaustive, as long as you see a program that you think will improve your sales and business results, you should consider attending.

Try to set aside 10% of your income on personal development.

The key to benefiting from these personal development programs is to apply what you learn into the way you conduct our business.

You must be open to try new ideas, strategies, or techniques. If there is no change in the way you conduct your business, don’t expect to see change in your results as well. With a bit of discipline and courage, you can dramatically improve your results.

MLM training consists of motivation, self motivation and motivation of your downline. This is a important form of MLM training. When a person is not motivated enough, he will be easily affected by rejections and he will give up easily when faced with an obstacle.

As a Network Marketer, you engage in sales and recruitment, if you are not motivated, you will be able to last in the industry long enough to taste the fruits of success. Furthermore motivate your downline to do sales.

Self-motivation may be difficult, when you do not know what is important to you. But once you can find the thing that is very important to you, you will be able to motivate yourself.
Here are some points you can use to motivate yourself when you start feeling dejected, overworked, or down.

Tip 1: Do What Matters Most

Most of the new marketers tend to postpone doing things they dislike. But those things may be very crucial and important in your progress. Therefore you should set and prioritise your goals, and ask yourself what matters to you the most. And when you really see the things that matter to you most, you will have to put them in your to-do list as priority

Tip 2: Make them a Habit

This should be part of your MLM training progress, learning to develop good habits.

Even for things you don’t like, continue doing it, after awhile they becomes a habit and a routine. Just like doing cold calls, many people hate doing cold calls, but if you keep doing it continuously for 1 month, it will too become a habit.

But in order to continuously something you don’t really like or even thing that you don’t mind doing requires some pushing factor. If you manage to continue doing it for 1 month, you will discover that it has become part of your daily routine.

Tip 3: Reward Yourself

As you continue establishing your career in MLM networking, you will definitely face challenges and difficulties, make sure you reward yourself if you manage to overcome the difficulty. This keeps you motivated along your pursuit for your goal. You don’t have to reward yourself with expensive things, but the reward should be something that is only possible if you manage to overcome the challenge.

For example, If you manage to hit your goal of making 10 sale in a month, you can reward yourself by getting yourself the very nice pen you’ve been eying.

Tip 4: Just Do It

Another problem many people face is that they procrastinate. Procrastination is the number one reason why people don’t succeed. Just start doing what you need to do. Look at your to-do list, and get down to it every morning you get to the office or when you wake up. Never out it off to later. During your MLM training, your upline will help you and follow you closely to get you started in getting started.

Things you can do tomorrow you can do today, and things you can do today you can do now. Live by this quote, and you will see yourself achieving many of your goals within or much before your targeted date.

Tip 5: Break then down.

Goal setting is the fundamental of any sales oriented job. During your MLM training, your upline will get you to set goals. When you set goals, set them into shorter term goals like; what you want to achieve every month for one year, and within the month, what you want to achieve every week, followed by every day. This way, you can see a very clear plan to achieving your goal.

Another thing about making shorter term plans is that you can see yourself achieving them, thus feeling more sense of achievement and motivated. This feeling propel you forward.

Tip 6: Get Support

It is important that you get support when you are accomplishing this. They help to motivate you when you are feeling down and they serves as a form of accountability towards achieving the goal.

Nobody is strong enough to do this alone. You can use your upline as a form of support or you can find your spouse, friends or even parents as your support.

It is important that you know these points before you start your MLM network marketing career so you don’t make so much mistakes. That is why MLM training is very important.

Part of MLM training is goal setting. Every new comers will be asked to write down their goals. This is to let the upline assist you in planning your activities and monitor your progress to ensure you can achieve your goal. But what is so difficult about setting goals?

People set goals everyday, every time they see something they want or like, But how many times do they achieve what they dream? One problem with people is that more than often, the goals they set are too unattainable, or too ambiguous, it doesn’t seem like you really want to achieve it at all.

Therefore you should find an upline that can assist you in your goal setting as part of yout MLM training program.

Without a proper goal set, no matter how much MLM trainings and presentationn, sales training, you will not be motivated to achieve your goal.

The goal or dream you set must be so important to you that you think of it all day long, and even dreaming of achieving it.

Avoid ambiguous dreams like: Make money, Be rich, Buy car, Quit job.

When you join a Network Marketing/ MLM company, your upline will first get to you set your goal. If you set ambiguous goals, you are only setting it for your upline,these goals are set not for oneself, but for others.

The difference in MLM/ Network Marketing is that you don’t have treat your upline like your boss, you don’t have to do things to please them.

You must realize that you are your own boss when you join MLM/ Network Marketing. You need to be initiative, and do things that will benefit yourself.

Discover your “hot button”, or things that make you tick, instead of making ambiguous dreams, you should be making specific goals you want to achieve, that mean something to you.

A good example of specific goals are; “I want to be able to bring my family to Japan by December”, “I want to earn $15000 to down pay for a new Nissan Fair lady in 5 months”

It is important to set your goal as detailed and specific as possible. So you know exactly what you want. These goals should be close to your heart and personal. And it should be important that you achieve it, so you will not give up easily.

You need to have a dateline to achieve your goal so you can plan how you can achieve it. If you don’t set a date to achieve your goal, you will never achieve it, because you won’t feel the urgency to achieve them.

Date line is important for goals because it keeps you focused in achieving it, and it creates a sense of urgency to achieve it within the dateline. If not, you will not feel the need to take action, as there is always a tomorrow.

To seal your commitment to achieve your goal, you should make it to a promise. Promise the people involved in your goal that you will achieve it for them. This gives you more reasons to achieve the goal.

MLM Training should be a on-going and continuous activity. It helps to keep your presenatation skills updated and keeps you focused and motivated. Set a good goal, stay focused and you will see yourself nearing to achieve your goal within the dateline.

Give your own network of downline MLM training to set proper goals to ensure they stay ontrack and fosuced. You will see many committed generals in your network as a result of this MLM training.

At First I Didn’t Believe It

I heard about the law of averages only a few weeks after I started Internet Marketing.

I was told that after I had used a certain marketing method for a few weeks, I would notice a trend. For instance, if I was making phone calls, I would notice that for every 40 people I called, 5 would ask for more info, and for every 10 who asked for more info, 1 would join. Or, for every 100 people who visited my webpage, one would take action that resulted in my making a profit.

My personal statistics would differ, they said, depending on the quality of my page, the attractiveness of my offer, my skill in talking on the phone etc. I would have to keep track of my efforts and responses to know how much I would need to work to get the results I wanted.

This is what they told me, but I didn’t believe them. I was told that for my webpage, 400 visits a day would make me a solid profit. Well then, I thought, if I get 50 visits a day, I should make a profit after 8 days. Day after day went by without any profits. Week after week, I struggled, checked my stats, and hung my head in dissapointment. I added up my visits for the month. Several thousand visits, and not one sale, or maybe two or three at best.

I remade my web page. Not once, but three times. No difference. The only way you can fail is by giving up. Keep trying. I was told.

Then I Saw It Working

After several months (it seemed like forever) I started noticing a few profit days each month. First I had three days of profit, then five, then eight. Of course when I added things up at the end of the month, I was still losing money. I felt helpless. What was causing the profit, and why was it so sporadic? Was I at the mercy of chance? And if so, why was I so unlucky?

Silly me, I never thought about looking at my webpage visits in relation to my sales. Sure enough, my magic number seemed to be 110. If I had 95 visits to my page in one day, I would lose money almost every time. If I had 100, I may lose money, and I may break even. It was a toss-up. If 110 people visited my site,
Wah-Lah! I was in profit mode!

This One Concept Could Ensure Your Success

Now I know this doesn’t seem logical, but it really does work. If you will simply believe this principle, you will be on the fast track to success. Here it is again.

The Law of Averages: When you start marketing, you will notice a trend. You will achieve your desired result after a certain number of attempts. That number will tend to continue. All you have to do to achieve your desired result is multiply the number of attempts by this magic number.
Of course, you will get better at what you do. Your phone skills will improve. You will tweak your page or ad copy, and begin to get better results. Things will get easier as you progress.

But if you believe this principle, your success will be inevitible, and even though it may take time, you will achieve your desired result. It will only take you four clear easily recognizable steps. I won’t decieve you and say these steps will be easy, but you will know exactly what your targets are for each step.

Set up your business. Choose your company or product, and decide what avenues you are going to market it in. Are you going to get a list of leads and call them? Are you going to make a web page? Does the company provide a web page for you to promote online?

Plan your marketing strategy and get started.

Keep track of your statistics. How much exposure do you need to make one sale, or get one sign-up?

Decide how much you want to achieve, multiply by your required exposure, and work to obtain that much exposure. You will know exactly how much you have to work to achieve your goals!
That’s all there is to it.
